Terms of Service
Last updated: July 19, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ChiefLogs (the "Service"), operated by Simple Logic Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
ChiefLogs helps inspectors and operators organize scanned pipeline-inspection documents by automatically classifying and filing them into job-book sections aligned to API 1169 best practices. Classification is performed with automated tools and artificial intelligence and is provided on a best-effort basis. You are responsible for reviewing filed documents for accuracy; we do not warrant that every document is filed correctly, and the Service is not a substitute for professional judgment or a system of record of legal or regulatory compliance.
2. Accounts
You must provide an accurate email address and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must verify your email address before using classification features. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to accept these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization.
3. Plans, pages, and billing
Your first job book is free for up to fifty (50) classified pages, counted across the lifetime of your account. Pages are metered at the moment a document is classified. Because classification consumes resources at that time, classified pages are counted when used and are not restored if you later delete the document or job.
Continued use beyond the free allowance requires a paid subscription (Solo or Pro), billed at the price shown at checkout for your selected plan through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for each renewal. Prices may change with notice; changes apply to subsequent billing periods.
Metered overage. Each Solo job book includes 200 classified pages. Pages beyond the included allowance are billed as metered overage at $0.10 per page. Accrued overage charges are billed automatically to the payment method on file each time your accrued balance reaches $10. Each Pro book includes 1,000 classified pages; additional pages are $0.10 each, charged automatically to your card on file each time your accrued overage reaches $10. Balances under $10 are not billed on their own: if a job book is completed or your subscription ends while an accrued balance under $10 remains, that balance is held — not charged — for 60 days; if you classify more pages in that job book or your subscription is renewed within that period, the balance carries forward and normal metering resumes; otherwise it is cleared without charge at the end of the 60 days. As with all classified pages, overage pages are counted when a document is classified and are not restored or refunded if you later delete the document or job. If an overage charge fails, we may retry it and provide a short grace period during which access continues. Current overage pricing is shown on the pricing page; changes to overage rates apply prospectively with notice.
Crew contributors (Pro). Pro subscriptions let the account owner add contributors ("crew") to a job book. The owner is responsible for the crew members they add and for crew use of the service under the owner's account. Documents submitted by crew file into the owner's job book, are part of the owner's records, and count against the owner's page allowance and overage billing. Crew submissions are stamped with the submitting user and time.
Calling cards. Information a crew contributor chooses to share with an owner — including any certifications or license numbers — is self-reported by the contributor and is not verified by ChiefLogs. Contributors represent that the information they share is accurate. The account owner is responsible for verifying the qualifications of any crew they admit to a job book.
If a renewal or overage charge fails, we may retry it and provide a grace period during which service continues; if payment is not resolved, your account reverts to the Free tier. If your account reverts to Free, your existing job books remain viewable and exportable, and nothing is deleted as a result of the change; only new automatic filing is paused until you resubscribe. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the documents, images, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you. You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access other accounts, reverse-engineer or disrupt the Service, upload unlawful or malicious content, or use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
6. Service providers
We rely on third-party providers to operate the Service, including cloud hosting, document storage, AI processing, payment processing, and email delivery. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that classifications will be accurate or complete.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simple Logic Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to comply with law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we may delete account data after a reasonable period.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute will be the state and federal courts located in Oklahoma.
